Yeston & Kopit's Phantom Boston Theatre reviews
Kings of Leon in San Jose
The fantastic sound of the music really stood out. The energetic band members, along with the engaging lead singer, made for a great concert experience. I'd rate it 4 & 1/2 stars, even though they only use whole stars here. Two reasons why I'm not giving it a perfect 5 stars: The lead singer's voice was somewhat drowned out by the music, despite being strong and rock-oriented. The fault lies with the sound technicians, as the instrumental sound overpowered. It would be beneficial to allow the lead singer's voice to shine through. Another reason for the 4-star rating is the band not extending songs into longer, more unique versions during the concert. While clean studio recordings are appreciated, a few more distinctive takes on songs would have been welcomed. Overall, a great show - just a suggestion for improvement.
